Project Manager - Building Restoration

About the role

As a Project Manager on the Building Restoration Consulting Team at Sense Engineering, you will lead projects from design through construction and delivery, working under the guidance of a Project Principal. The role requires a proactive, client‑focused mindset and a passion for delivering high‑quality engineering services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage restoration projects from initial design through completion, including proposal development, scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling and resource planning.
• Conduct site investigations, prepare technical reports, and develop detailed restoration designs, specifications and drawings.
• Lead client meetings, communicate design updates, and coordinate with contractors, consultants and other engineering disciplines.
• Oversee the tendering process, contract administration, bid preparation, contractor selection, and review of invoices and change orders.
• Represent Sense Engineering at industry events and networking functions, and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Travel occasionally within Canada, primarily on projects in Ontario.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum five years of experience in building envelope and/or structural restoration.
• Registration with or eligibility for registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with clients, contractors and consultants.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
