Project Engineer

About the role

Wood Rodgers is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Northern California Transportation Division. You will work on transportation infrastructure and land‑use projects, helping communities across California improve mobility and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of transportation systems, including roads, highways, and multimodal facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and develop comprehensive transportation plans.
• Assist the Project Manager with proposals, client coordination, task delegation, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
• Maintain compliance with transportation codes, obtain permits, and prepare technical reports and memoranda.
• Mentor and oversee junior staff, manage project budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Support scope, schedule, and budget preparation for new project pursuits.
• Represent Wood Rodgers at industry events to grow the brand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• California Professional Engineer (PE) license; additional certifications are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
