Project Engineer – Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver)

About the role

Primero Americas is seeking a Project Engineer to support mining and heavy‑industrial projects across Canada. The role blends technical engineering work with project coordination and on‑site execution in a fast‑paced EPCM environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of project teams, subcontractors and vendors through engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
• Participate in internal and external project meetings, communicating design and scope changes.
• Read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, schematics and engineering documents.
• Perform engineering calculations, lift studies and provide technical support for field modifications.
• Apply Canadian and U.S. engineering codes and standards.
• Monitor schedules, contractor progress, costs and scope changes.
• Provide technical coordination, quality oversight and support during construction and commissioning.
• Review contractor quality documentation and assist with project QA activities.
• Support vendor and subcontractor coordination throughout supply, construction and commissioning.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, adaptable engineer comfortable balancing technical duties with project coordination.
• Experience in EPCM projects, preferably in mining or heavy‑industrial sectors.
• Ability to work on‑site as project requirements dictate.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
