Programmer Analyst I – Learning Technology Hub

About the role

The Programmer Analyst I supports UBC's Learning Technology Hub by designing, developing, and maintaining learning‑technology solutions that enable campus‑wide teaching and learning. You will work on smaller software modules, system‑to‑system integrations, and contribute to larger AI‑powered platforms that serve the university community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain solutions based on core teaching and learning applications.
• Advise and collaborate with programmers creating faculty‑ or department‑specific modules.
• Design and implement system integrations and data pipelines.
• Build and support AI‑driven services such as RAG chatbots, conversational assistants, and agentic AI tools.
• Maintain cloud‑hosted services and shared platforms used across UBC.
• Contribute to analytics and data‑driven learning‑technology initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in software development and system integration.
• Strong interest in AI, data‑driven solutions, and educational technology.
• Self‑directed, curious, and able to learn new tools quickly.
