Production Worker - Counter-Sorter

About the role

The Soil Counter/Sorter is responsible for handling, counting, sorting and recording incoming soiled textiles from customers. This position ensures that textiles are correctly categorized by type, size and colour, while identifying any damaged or abused items.

Key responsibilities

• Open bags of soiled textiles and sort them by type, size and colour.
• Count textiles manually or using electronic systems and transfer them into sorting equipment.
• Identify damaged or abused textiles and record them in the sorting system.
• Maintain efficiency and safety standards throughout the shift.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and assist in other production roles as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to recognise colours and sizes accurately.
• Strong counting accuracy, both manual and electronic.
• Capability to follow directions and work under supervision.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach overhead, push, pull, grasp, lift up to 50 lb and stoop for the entire shift.
• Comfortable working in an industrial laundry environment with variable temperature, odors, humidity, lint and dust.
