Production Associate

About the role

Carfair Composites is seeking a Production Associate to join its manufacturing team. You will work hands‑on with fiberglass and composite parts used in transit vehicles, ensuring high‑quality production and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support production of molded fiberglass and composite components using hand lay‑up, vacuum infusion, trimming, sanding, grinding and finishing processes.
• Operate hand, power and pneumatic tools such as angle grinders, palm sanders, drills, routers, cutters and polishers.
• Prepare molds, materials and work areas, including setup, cleaning and basic mold maintenance.
• Remove, trim, sand, buff, repair and inspect parts for surface defects, air bubbles, rough edges or dimensional issues before they move to the next production stage.
• Follow work instructions, blueprints, jigs, guides and measurement tools to meet specifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe condition while supporting Lean and 5S practices.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, repair or a related hands‑on trade.
• Exposure to composite manufacturing, fiberglass, molded parts, sanding, grinding, trimming, finishing or repair is preferred.

Required skills

• Hand lay‑up and vacuum infusion techniques.
• Trimming, sanding, grinding and finishing of composite parts.
• Use of angle grinders, palm sanders, drills, routers, cutters and polishers.
• Reading and interpreting work instructions, blueprints and measurement tools.
• Basic knowledge of Lean and 5S workplace practices.
