Product Development Engineer – Mechanical Design

About the role

Inertia is seeking a Product Development Engineer with strong mechanical design expertise to create innovative, manufacturable products. You will work alongside strategists, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to turn bold ideas into market‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and engineer mechanical and electromechanical solutions focused on manufacturability and user satisfaction.
• Plan, execute, and document design, build, testing, and prototyping activities for new products.
• Apply systematic research methods to capture customer and end‑user requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver sound design solutions.
• Balance project scope, budget, schedule, and deliverables.
• Manage relationships with manufacturing partners and in‑house assembly teams.
• Promote and use Inertia’s Quality Management System in daily work.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and support health, safety, and wellness initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience designing complex, multidisciplinary physical products.
• Proven ability to apply mechanical and manufacturing engineering fundamentals to solve design challenges.
• Excellent communication skills – able to convey complex ideas visually, verbally, and in writing.
