Procurement Supervisor – Police Services

About the role

The London Police Service is seeking a Supervisor to lead its Procurement Unit. This permanent, full‑time position oversees sourcing, purchasing, logistics and administrative functions that support both operational and capital needs of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, supervise, coach and evaluate Procurement Unit staff, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve procurement procedures and explore new technologies.
• Plan, organize, assign and monitor work to ensure accuracy, compliance and adherence to timelines and policies.
• Provide training and subject‑matter expertise to staff involved in the procurement process.
• Manage the development, implementation and coordination of all procurement SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with LPS/LPSB policies, mitigate risks, and manage performance bonds.
• Oversee purchasing and contracting for supplies and services, including regular procurement planning meetings.
• Manage the full vendor life‑cycle: onboarding, performance reviews, renewals, amendments and contract obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement and contract management, preferably in a public‑sector environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policies, budgeting and risk‑mitigation practices.
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
