Procurement Consultant

About the role

The Ontario government is seeking two Procurement Consultants to manage Vendor of Record arrangements across a broad category portfolio. You will support ministries and agencies by delivering strategic procurement advice and overseeing end‑to‑end procurement processes that align with policies, trade agreements and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analysis and provide advice on supply‑market trends, business practices, category and contract management.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert for specific categories, anticipating future needs and supporting senior staff in strategy development.
• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines.
• Coordinate operational administration of contracts, agreements and supplier performance measures.
• Maintain vendor relationships as the single point of contact and drive effective vendor management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of category management, purchasing and contracting policies.
• Experience interpreting contracts, assessing supplier performance and mediating supply‑chain issues.
• Proven project‑management ability to lead working groups and procurement projects.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple activities and meet deadlines.
