Private Home Child Caregiver

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for household in the absence of parents.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens.
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
• Organize activities such as games and outings for children.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Supervise and care for children.
• Transport children to and from school and appointments.
• Attend to the emotional well‑being of children.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a non‑smoking, scent‑free environment.
• Willingness to work in the employer’s home, with optional live‑in accommodation (not a condition of employment).
• Experience caring for children with learning disabilities or special needs.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass criminal record, vulnerable sector, and reference checks.
• Capability to handle repetitive tasks, work under pressure, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, initiative, good judgment, organization, and reliability.
