Private Home Child Caregiver

About the role

This full‑time, permanent position supports a family in West Vancouver by providing comprehensive childcare and household assistance within a private home environment. The role may include optional live‑in accommodation, though this is not a condition of employment.

Key responsibilities

• Change diapers and assist with toilet training as directed by parents.
• Assume full responsibility for the household when parents are absent, including light housekeeping and cleaning.
• Shop for food and household supplies.
• Travel with the family, supervising children and handling housekeeping duties on trips.
• Wash, iron, and press clothing and linens.
• Bathe, dress, feed, and discipline infants and children according to parental guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, healthy home environment.
• Organise games, outings and other activities for children.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and manage rest periods.
• Support children’s emotional well‑being and overall care.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant childcare experience.
• Bondable and able to provide references.
• Personal qualities: flexibility, initiative, good judgement, organization, reliability, time‑management, patience and honesty.
