Privacy Manager

About the role

The Privacy Manager will lead William Osler Health System’s privacy and Freedom of Information (FOI) program, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision, mission, and values. Reporting to the Director of Cybersecurity, Privacy & HIM, this role provides strategic direction and oversees risk‑management activities related to privacy compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement privacy policies, corporate protocols, and risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Identify and address compliance gaps, including those related to privacy, access, and emerging AI regulations.
• Lead the privacy team, providing mentorship and guidance to staff and stakeholders.
• Design and facilitate adoption of best privacy practices across the organization.
• Oversee privacy inquiries, consultations, and complaints to ensure consistent handling.
• Educate staff on legislative requirements, industry best practices, and case law.

Required profile

• Proven experience in privacy program management within a healthcare or large‑organization setting.
• Strong knowledge of privacy legislation, FOI regulations, and emerging AI compliance issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage risk, and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
