Principal Strategic Procurement Lead – Maintenance & Engineering

About the role

Air Canada is seeking a senior procurement professional to lead strategic sourcing for its Maintenance and Technical Services division. The Principal, Strategic Procurement will drive high‑value contracts, shape category strategies, and mentor a team of procurement specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for airframe, engine, component, and cabin maintenance categories.
• Lead complex sourcing projects and negotiate contracts exceeding $20 million USD.
• Analyze spend data and expiring contracts to identify consolidation and sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across Maintenance, Finance, and Technical Services to align procurement with business priorities.
• Oversee procurement events, market research, and baseline spend analysis.
• Manage, coach, and set performance targets for the procurement team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and category management within aviation or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to develop long‑term market intelligence and negotiate high‑value contracts.
• Experience guiding cross‑functional senior teams.
