About the role
The Department of Physics at McGill University seeks a motivated post‑doctoral researcher to join a cutting‑edge project using the Canadian CHIME and CHORD radio telescopes. The work focuses on detecting long‑period transient signals that may originate from magnetically active neutron stars and binary white dwarfs.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and analyze data from the CHIME and CHORD facilities to identify long‑period transients.
- Interpret observational results to advance understanding of astrophysical origins and emission mechanisms.
- Prepare and submit scientific manuscripts to peer‑reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and external partners on related research activities.
Required profile
- PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to reside in Quebec.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for research communication.

- Annual salary of $78,000 (CAD) for a full‑time 35‑hour week.
