About the role
The School of Continuing Studies at McGill University is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join the newly created "Activator" research group. The project focuses on access to justice for official language minority communities across Canada and runs for a one‑year term with full compensation and benefits.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in ongoing research projects within the Activator group.
- Collaborate closely with justice departments, legal professional associations, jurilinguistics centres, and other stakeholders.
- Generate scientific data and impact research for policy makers and service providers.
- Contribute to building a sustainable research community on language‑minority justice.
- Disseminate findings through reports, academic publications, and presentations.
Required profile
- PhD completed in law, sociology, linguistics, political science, education, economics, social work, anthropology, or a related field.
- Early‑career researcher with a strong interest in language rights and justice access.
- Demonstrated ability to work interdisciplinary and engage with external partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
Required skills
- Research design and methodology (qualitative and quantitative).
- Data collection and analysis relevant to legal and sociolinguistic contexts.
- Academic writing and publication experience.
