Plant Manager

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking a Plant Manager for its Mississauga facility, an FDA‑registered contract medical device manufacturer. The role is responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient end‑to‑end manufacturing operations, driving production performance, continuous improvement, and financial results.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily production performance (output, OEE, schedule adherence, first‑pass yield) and achieve monthly/quarterly targets.
• Lead Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Mechanical Engineering teams.
• Champion a safety‑first culture in compliance with Ontario OHSA and internal EHS policies.
• Manage plant P&L elements, including labor, materials, scrap, maintenance, and utilities.
• Drive Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives such as 5S, value‑stream mapping, SMED, Kaizen, and visual management.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years managing a high‑tech manufacturing facility.
• Post‑secondary diploma in Engineering and/or Operations Management.
• Strong strategic planning, budgeting, performance measurement, and information systems skills.
• Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 and/or FDA QSR environments is an asset.

• Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
• Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools.
• Knowledge of Ontario OHSA and health‑safety legislation.
