Plant Manager

About the role

We are looking for a high‑caliber Plant Manager to lead operations at our 80,000 sq ft steel processing facility. You will drive production excellence, ensure 100% compliance with Canadian safety standards, and optimize complex workflows across fabrication, welding, and machining.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily plant operations to meet production schedules with maximum efficiency and minimal waste.
• Manage labour costs, staffing, and resource allocation across multiple shifts.
• Champion a safety‑first culture, ensuring full compliance with Provincial OHS regulations and WSIB requirements.
• Develop and control annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets to maximize ROI on plant assets.
• Maintain rigorous quality control systems (ISO 9001) to meet customer specifications.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and lead supervisors, production staff, and temporary workers.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, preferably steel processing or metal fabrication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical diploma (preferred).
• Proven hands‑on management style with the ability to lead by example on the shop floor.
• Experience managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets and WSIB employee files.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety regulations.
