About the role
The Alberta Public Service Commission is seeking qualified physicians to serve as members of the Out‑Of‑Country Health Services Committee. Members will provide expert review of applications for funding health services delivered outside Canada and make informed decisions on expense reimbursements.
Key responsibilities
- Review and evaluate applications for out‑of‑country health service funding.
- Make funding decisions based on established criteria and policies.
- Ensure compliance with the Alberta Public Agencies Governance Act (APAGA).
- Participate in committee meetings and provide professional medical insight.
- Maintain confidentiality of applicant information.
Required profile
- Medical degree and active physician licensure in Canada.
- Experience in clinical practice and familiarity with health service delivery.
- Understanding of public‑sector governance and funding processes.
- Ability to assess clinical relevance and financial implications of applications.
