About the role
The Pharmacy Director will lead the pharmacy services across Brant Community Healthcare System’s two acute‑care sites in Brantford and Paris, Ontario. Reporting to senior hospital leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and patient‑centred medication management while supporting the system’s strategic priorities of quality care and innovation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for pharmacy operations, including inpatient, outpatient, and urgent‑care services.
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, accreditation standards, and medication safety policies.
- Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, monitor financial performance, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimize medication therapy and support evidence‑based practice.
- Lead quality‑improvement initiatives, medication safety programs, and strategic planning for pharmacy services.
- Oversee formulary management, drug procurement, and inventory control.
Required profile
- Registered Pharmacist with a valid Ontario license.
- Extensive leadership experience in an acute‑care or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, drive operational efficiency, and lead change initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinicians, administrators, and external partners.
