Pharmacy Director

About the role

The Pharmacy Director will lead pharmacy services across Brant Community Healthcare System’s two sites in Brantford and Paris, Ontario. Reporting to senior hospital leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and patient‑focused medication management within an acute‑care and urgent‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all pharmacy operations, including inpatient, outpatient, urgent‑care and transitional‑care services.
• Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, accreditation standards, and medication safety protocols.
• Develop and manage the pharmacy budget, monitor inventory, and optimize formulary decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a multidisciplinary pharmacy team across both locations.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate pharmacy services into patient care pathways.
• Drive quality‑improvement initiatives and support research and education activities.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist (PharmD or equivalent) with a valid Ontario license.
• Significant leadership experience in a hospital or health‑system pharmacy setting.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and complex budgets.
• Strong strategic thinking and excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to patient‑first values and continuous improvement.
