Pharmacy Department Manager – Retail

About the role

The Pharmacy Department Manager will lead the daily operations of our retail pharmacy in Ottawa. This position combines operational oversight with strategic planning to ensure excellent customer service and profitability. You will work closely with the pharmacy team to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Plan, organize, and monitor daily activities, including staffing and duty assignments.
• Analyze market research and trends to forecast demand and adjust sales strategies.
• Develop and implement marketing initiatives to increase foot traffic and sales.
• Prepare budgets, track revenues, and control expenses.
• Resolve customer issues, complaints, and supply shortages promptly.
• Lead project coordination and manage pharmacy‑related projects.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education in Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm) or related field.
• Background in business administration or management is advantageous.
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in a pharmacy or drugstore setting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and team‑working skills.
