Pharmacy Assistant

About the role

The Pharmacy Assistant works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support prescription processing, billing, inventory management and patient scheduling. This role ensures that medication preparation and documentation meet regulatory standards while providing clear communication with patients and healthcare partners.

Key responsibilities

• Enter prescription data, track lot numbers and expiry dates using the Kroll software.
• Assist with prescription refills, third‑party billing issues and claim troubleshooting.
• Prepare and label medications for pharmacist review, including compounding documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, perform cycle counts and manage stock rotation.
• Coordinate medication shipments, track deliveries and report adverse events.
• Document all activities according to pharmacy policies and participate in quality‑assurance initiatives.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Pharmacy Assistance (preferred).
• Familiarity with federal, provincial and local pharmacy regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurers and healthcare teams.
