Pharmacist – Specialty & Compounding Pharmacy (12‑month contract)

About the role

Join a national specialty healthcare organization operating a modern pharmacy in Mississauga, ON. This 12‑month full‑time contract focuses on patient‑centered care, compounding, and clinical pharmacy services within a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all prescription dispensing activities in compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians, and manage workflow across production, order entry, and distribution.
• Provide patient counseling, clinical documentation, and pharmaceutical care as needed.
• Support sterile and non‑sterile compounding, including IV admixtures such as antibiotics and TPN.
• Ensure SOPs, policies, and quality standards are consistently followed.
• Establish, maintain, and validate quality‑assurance procedures and documentation.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and processes, recommending improvements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication‑related questions.
• Participate in clinical initiatives and quality‑improvement programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Ontario.
• Hands‑on clinical or home‑care pharmacy experience (asset).
• Experience with IV admixture or sterile compounding (asset).
• Hospital or outpatient pharmacy background (asset).
• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
