Part‑Time Grocery Clerk – Sales & Service

About the role

Join Safeway’s Calgary store as a part‑time Grocery Clerk focused on sales and service. You will assist customers, handle transactions and keep the checkout area tidy while delivering a friendly shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Enter or scan items selected by customers and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Process cash, debit, credit and cheque payments, make deposits and balance the register.
• Bag items according to store standards and maintain a clean work area and uniform.
• Meet productivity targets such as sales per hour and entries per minute.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and equipment‑use procedures.
• Assist with other store duties as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
• Customer‑service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 kg.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.

• Cash register operation (POS system).
