Part-Time Sales Assistant – Bakery

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Part‑Time Sales Assistant to join our COBS Bread bakery in Courtenay. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them find their favourite baked goods while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous, engaging customer service and operate the cash register.
• Stock and merchandise bakery products, ensuring displays are attractive and well‑filled.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment.
• Promote seasonal items and specials to boost sales.
• Assist with product finishing, packaging, and teamwork as needed.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (50 lb).
• Previous experience in retail, food service or hospitality is a plus but not required.
