Parks Maintainer / Labourer, Roads

About the role

The Town of Whitby is seeking a Parks Maintainer / Labourer to support the maintenance of parks and roads. The role works under the direction of the Supervisor of Operations (Parks) and the Supervisor of Operations (Roads/Traffic) and reports daily to the Working Foreperson(s). It offers a hybrid work environment where staff can perform duties from various locations as appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs in municipal parks and roadways.
• Assist supervisors and forepersons in daily operational tasks.
• Operate basic maintenance equipment and tools safely.
• Report work progress and any issues to supervisors.
• Support the Town’s CARE values (Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Engaged) in all interactions.
