Parent's Helper – Household & Childcare Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Parent’s Helper to support a family in Surrey, BC. The role combines light housekeeping, meal preparation, and comprehensive childcare for children aged 6‑12, including occasional infant care. This is a permanent, full‑time position based in the employer’s home.

Key responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the household in the parents’ absence, including light cleaning and laundry.
• Shop for food and household supplies and prepare nutritious meals.
• Supervise, feed, bathe, dress, and transport children to school, appointments, and outings.
• Organize games, outings, and educational activities, and assist with homework.
• Maintain records of daily activities, health information, and ensure a safe environment.
• Discipline children according to parents’ guidelines and support their emotional well‑being.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to handle loads up to 9 kg and perform repetitive tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Reliability, initiative, good judgment, and strong organizational abilities.
• Willingness to travel with the family and use public transportation.
• Clear criminal record, child abuse registry check, drug test, and medical exam.
