About the role
We are seeking a skilled Paralegal/Legal Assistant III to support a leading financial institution in Oakville. Working under attorney supervision, you will contribute to a variety of legal matters across corporate, wealth management, and banking sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence and documents under attorney supervision.
- Conduct legal research and review journals to support cases.
- Assist attorneys in gathering employment, medical, and other case‑related records.
- Attend legal meetings, hearings, or depositions and take detailed notes.
- Organize, maintain, and update case files, legal documents, and law libraries.
- Prepare, process, and file court documents including motions, appeals, and pre‑trial agreements.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree in paralegal studies.
- 5‑7 years of paralegal or legal secretary experience.
- Proven ability to prepare and process legal documents such as summonses, motions, subpoenas, complaints, and pleadings.
- Strong knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, and government regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
- Experience attending hearings, depositions, or client interviews.
- Ability to support junior lawyers on document preparation.
- Strong organizational skills managing law libraries and case files.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.

- Starting pay of $30 per hour.
- 18‑month fixed‑term contract with potential extension or conversion.
