Painter – Construction & Finishing

About the role

Hefty Construction Ltd. is seeking a painter to work on various construction sites in Victoria. The role involves preparing, painting, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces, as well as installing wallpaper and related wall coverings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, clean and sand surfaces before painting.
• Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings.
• Mix paint to the required colour and texture.
• Measure, cut and apply wallpaper and other fabric wall coverings.
• Erect scaffolding, swing stages and attach rigging for high‑level work.
• Apply paint, wallpaper and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Estimate material quantities and labour costs for projects.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of painting or related experience.
• Ability to work shifts as required.
• Willingness to work at various locations.

Required skills

• Surface preparation (cleaning, sanding, repairing).
• Paint mixing and application.
• Wallpaper measurement, cutting and installation.
• Scaffolding erection and rigging.
• Cost estimation for materials and labour.
