Steel Stud Framer – Carpentry

About the role

We are seeking a Steel Stud Framer to join our carpentry team at Stanley Walls Ltd. The role involves framing, installation, and renovation tasks across various construction sites in Victoria, BC. You will work on both residential and commercial projects in noisy, dusty environments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in diverse settings.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work in noisy, dusty construction environments.
• Physical capability to bend, crouch, kneel, lift heavy loads and meet tight deadlines.
• Judgement, reliability and teamwork.

Required skills

• Measuring and layout according to building codes.
• Cutting, shaping and assembling wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Construction of foundations, floor beams, sub‑flooring, walls and roof systems.
