Operating Room Nurse – Orthopedic Surgery (Laval)

About the role

Lacroix Private Medicine is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join its Laval surgical suite. The role focuses on orthopedic procedures such as total hip and knee replacements, while also supporting a variety of other surgeries.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for orthopedic, gynecological, ENT, urological, general, bariatric, and neurosurgical cases.
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team throughout procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic protocols.
• Monitor patient status intra‑operatively and respond to emergencies according to CPR and ACLS guidelines.
• Document surgical activities accurately and manage operating‑room supplies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Required profile

• Completed nursing training (DEC or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with a valid OIIQ license.
• Minimum three years of operating‑room experience, including total hip and knee replacements.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Fluent French and functional English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AIISOC, CSA, and PCI standards.
• Expertise in aseptic protocols and surgical asepsis.
• Knowledge of anatomy and orthopedic surgical techniques.
• CPR and ACLS emergency response skills.
