Online Trigonometry Tutor (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced online Trigonometry Tutor to join the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform. You will work remotely, providing one‑on‑one and on‑demand tutoring sessions to high‑school and early‑college students across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, interactive lessons covering core trigonometric concepts such as sine, cosine, tangent, unit‑circle geometry, identities, and applications.
• Guide students through problem‑solving techniques for right‑triangle and oblique‑triangle problems, law of sines, law of cosines, and double‑angle/half‑angle formulas.
• Utilize the platform’s AI‑powered Tutor Copilot to generate lesson plans, real‑time instructional support, and engagement tools.
• Adapt explanations to diverse learning styles using visual aids, mnemonic devices, and real‑world examples.
• Invoice completed sessions and receive payment up to twice per week.

Required profile

• Deep mastery of trigonometric functions, identities, graph transformations, and related calculus/engineering applications.
• Proven ability to break down complex concepts into clear, visual explanations.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Flexibility to set your own schedule and handle on‑demand tutoring requests.

Required skills

• Trigonometric functions (sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, cotangent)
• Unit‑circle and radian/degree measures
• Trigonometric identities and inverse functions
• Law of sines, law of cosines, double‑angle and half‑angle formulas
• Graphing transformations of periodic functions
