Online Instructor for Governance and Administration (Graduate)

About the role

The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy seeks an online instructor to teach JSGS 801.3 Governance and Administration during the Fall 2026 term. The fully asynchronous course will serve 30‑35 graduate students and is delivered remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design, organize, and deliver weekly instructional content for an asynchronous online format.
• Create and grade assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain virtual office hours and respond to student inquiries.
• Ensure academic integrity and compliance with university policies.
• Collaborate with department staff on course logistics and enrollment matters.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• Demonstrated experience teaching at the graduate level in a post‑secondary setting.
• Professional experience in public service is a strong asset.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in an online environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of governance and public administration concepts.
• Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas).
• Capability to develop engaging asynchronous instructional materials.
• Effective written communication for feedback and course announcements.
