Offline Operator - Night Shift

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring two Offline Operators for its manufacturing plant in St. Albert, Alberta. The role supports production and materials activities such as grinding, reel assembly and pelletizing, and is described as an entry-level position with growth opportunities. It is a night-shift position.

Key responsibilities

• Build custom plastic or steel reels to specification and keep them ready for production
• Grind scrap, defective or unusable duct products using a grinder
• Disassemble empty or unused reels and handle reel returns
• Operate equipment including hydraulic and electric reelers, lift truck, electric and manual pallet jacks, impact gun, Sawzall and conduit cutter
• Manage grinded and pelletized silos and keep their levels correct
• Load super-sacks for shipping to other plants and inspect products for quality non-conformance
• Help dispose of scrap pipes, keep equipment and the work area clean, and follow all safety requirements
• Complete paperwork accurately and perform other duties as directed by management

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Physical stamina to sit, stand and walk on hard or uneven surfaces during a shift
• Able to lift, carry and move items up to 50 lbs
• Team player willing to support all functions of the manufacturing process
• CSA-approved steel-toed shoes required; a shoe reimbursement voucher is provided on start date

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer operations
• Reading, writing and mathematical competency

The schedule is a 12-hour night shift, 4 on 3 off then 3 on 4 off, rotating every two weeks; seasonal needs may change it. Pre-employment background checks are required, and Canadian experience is not required.
