Nocturnist / Day Hospitalist – Full‑Time, Part‑Time or Casual

About the role

Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Ontario is seeking qualified family physicians to join a growing inpatient team as nocturnists and day hospitalists. The position offers flexible full‑time, part‑time or casual arrangements within a modern 44‑bed acute‑care facility.

Key responsibilities

• Admit, round on, and discharge all medical in‑patients.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and develop safe discharge plans.
• Respond to emergency codes (ACLS required) and coordinate transfers to higher‑level centres when needed.
• Collaborate closely with inpatient specialists and the broader care team.
• Provide coverage for learners when applicable and arrange backup coverage as required.

Required profile

• Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training with a valid Ontario license.
• Willingness to work night shifts (nocturnist) or daytime hospitalist shifts.
• Ability to function in a team‑oriented, collegial environment.
• Interest in teaching or mentorship is a plus but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
