Network Technical Specialist

About the role

The Network Technical Specialist will coordinate access and use of computer networks, install and maintain web server hardware and software, and provide problem‑solving services to network users. This role supports LAN, WAN, and mainframe environments while ensuring security and performance across the infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade networking hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LAN, WAN, and mainframe networks, including printers and peripheral equipment.
• Monitor system performance, perform routine start‑up/shut‑down procedures, and keep control records.
• Execute data backups, disaster recovery, and web‑server backup and recovery operations.
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring tools, and optimize server performance.
• Set up local area networks, Internet connections, and ensure secure data, software, and hardware procedures.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in network administration, hardware/software installation, or IT infrastructure support.
• Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNA, Network+, Microsoft SQL, or PMP.
• Ability to work shifts, on‑call, and start on the posted date.
