Junior Structured Cabling Technician

About the role

AmpThink, which designs, installs and supports integrated technology systems for sports stadiums and entertainment arenas, is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Structured Cabling Technician. You will help install, maintain and troubleshoot structured cabling systems at venues across North America, starting your career in network infrastructure alongside experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the installation and termination of structured cabling, including Cat 5/6 and fiber optic cables and associated hardware.
• Help perform site surveys and assess locations for cable runs and equipment installation.
• Follow quality standards and best practices for structured cabling installations.
• Work with senior technicians to complete projects on time and accurately.
• Take part in troubleshooting and resolving cabling issues at various venues.
• Maintain documentation of installations and work performed.
• Support safety and environmental guidelines in the workplace.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in telecommunications or a related field is a plus.
• Basic understanding of structured cabling systems and components.
• Ability to work well in a team, follow directions, and solve problems with strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly changing technologies.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
