Senior Structured Cabling Technician

About the role

AmpThink is looking for a Senior Structured Cabling Technician to lead the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems across high-profile venues and stadiums. The role also includes mentoring junior technicians and ensuring projects are finished to the highest standards and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the installation and termination of copper and fiber optic cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6 and multimode fiber.
• Conduct site surveys to assess cabling needs and prepare reports for project planning.
• Supervise and train junior cabling technicians.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards for cabling installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues quickly.
• Document progress and changes to the cabling infrastructure during the project.
• Work with project managers and other engineering teams to meet timelines and quality expectations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience installing structured cabling in commercial or large venue environments.
• Strong understanding of cabling standards including ANSI/TIA, BICSI and NEC.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage several tasks at once.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Knowledge of IP networking and data center infrastructure is a plus.
• Certifications such as BICSI Installer or Fiber Optic Certification are preferred but not mandatory.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment, work in varied environments and follow safety protocols.
