Mid-level Backend Software Engineer – Ads Platform

About the role

Reddit is looking for a mid‑level backend software engineer to join its Ads organization. You will help build and scale the services that power Reddit’s advertising ecosystem, ensuring advertisers reach the right audience and users enjoy a safe, relevant ad experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices and APIs that support advertiser‑facing products such as ads.reddit.com.
• Build distributed systems that select and deliver the appropriate ad to each user in real time.
• Implement backend functionality for interactive ad experiences, including polls and games.
• Develop real‑time, data‑intensive pipelines that measure campaign performance.
• Contribute to the underlying infrastructure that enables the above services to run reliably at scale.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with several years of experience building backend systems.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a passion for high‑scale, data‑driven products.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment and collaborating across product, data, and infrastructure teams.
