Medical Science Liaison – Gastroenterology (12‑month contract)

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specialized in gastroenterology to cover a 12‑month maternity leave replacement in Quebec. The MSL will act as a scientific bridge between AbbVie’s medical affairs team and external experts, delivering accurate medical information and supporting collaborative research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scientific knowledge to credibly disseminate information to external experts and healthcare professionals.
• Support and follow‑up on investigator‑initiated studies, clinical trials, and medical projects within the gastroenterology therapeutic area.
• Provide scientific support and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centres.
• Deliver presentations on scientific data to individual healthcare professionals or groups.
• Identify qualified HCPs for collaborative activities such as advisory boards, congresses, and symposiums, ensuring scientific integrity.
• Attend relevant scientific meetings and produce concise summaries of key data presented.

Required profile

• PhD, PharmD or MD degree.
• Solid knowledge of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
• Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison is preferred.
• Relevant background in gastroenterology.
