Medical Officer (Canadian Armed Forces)

About the role

The Canadian Armed Forces is seeking qualified physicians to join as Medical Officers. You will deliver primary health care to CAF members in clinics across Canada or on overseas missions, supporting peacekeeping, combat, and humanitarian operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Provide comprehensive primary health care and occupational health services.
• Promote health protection, education, and safety for CAF personnel.
• Deliver medical support for operational deployments.
• Practice environmental medicine, including aviation and hyperbaric medicine, after additional training.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.
• Unrestricted licence to practice family medicine in a Canadian province or territory.
• Willingness to complete basic military training and officer qualification.
• Ability to work in diverse settings, from permanent clinics to temporary field units.
