About the role
As a Mechanical Superintendent with PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc., you will lead mechanical construction activities on legacy projects across British Columbia. You will work closely with the project manager and field teams to ensure safety, quality, and schedule objectives are met while fostering a collaborative work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the project manager to implement PCL’s safety program and ensure compliance with all safety and record‑keeping requirements.
- Supervise, direct, coach, train and mentor the project team, including both direct and indirect reports.
- Communicate effectively with trades and forces to meet performance, productivity, quality and safety targets.
- Collaborate with the construction/project manager and project team to proactively manage problems, work interferences and schedule conflicts.
- Liaise between field engineers, estimators and subcontractors to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with client, other site contractors, union and labour relations, and site and office representatives.
- Visualize the entire project, develop the complete project schedule, identify the critical path and anticipate constructability issues.
- Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and resource‑loaded three‑week look‑ahead schedules.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising mechanical construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce safety programs.
- Excellent leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience coordinating with clients, unions and multiple stakeholders.
