About the role
We are looking for a skilled carpenter to join our construction team in Calgary. The role involves framing, flooring, and finishing work on a variety of building projects, ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts and measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Schedule and coordinate work on site and instruct apprentices.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation.
- 2–3 years of carpentry experience.
- Ability to work at heights, handle heavy loads and meet tight deadlines.
- Accurate, reliable and a strong team player.
Required skills
- Blueprint reading.
- Measuring and layout preparation.
- Cutting and shaping wood and lightweight steel.
- Installation of windows, doors and stair systems.
