About the role

We are seeking a reliable Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our school facilities. The role involves a variety of cleaning, minor maintenance, and outdoor upkeep tasks.

Key responsibilities

Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs.
Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris.
Empty trash cans and clean waste containers.
Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems.
Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
Carry out routine maintenance such as painting and drywall repair.
Water and tend to plants, lawns and gardens.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.

Required profile

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Prior custodial or maintenance experience is an asset.

Required skills

Operation of industrial vacuum cleaners.
Basic HVAC system adjustments.
Basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
Painting and drywall repair.
Snow and ice removal.
Window and interior surface cleaning.
