Materiel Management Technician

About the role

The Materiel Management Technician ensures that all supplies and services needed for Canadian Armed Forces operations are available where and when they are required. This role supports the Navy, Army or Air Force in Canada and abroad, handling everything from food and fuel to spare parts and clothing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing, warehousing, shipping, receiving, stock control and disposal of obsolete equipment.
• Receive, handle and prepare items for shipment, including documentation.
• Operate military vehicles up to 10 tons and materials‑handling equipment such as forklifts.
• Process invoices, maintain accounting and financial records, and coordinate repair and disposal functions.
• Order material from internal and external sources, deliver supplies to operational units, and perform inventory control.

Required profile

• Completion of Basic Military Qualification training.
• Physical fitness meeting Canadian Armed Forces standards.
• Willingness to work in deployed environments, including ships, remote bases or combat zones.
• Flexibility to relocate or work part‑time with a Primary Reserve unit.
