Marina Operator

About the role

Dorset Realty Group is expanding its marina operations division and seeks a full‑time Marina Operator to manage day‑to‑day activities at its Richmond, BC waterfront facility. The role blends office administration with hands‑on marine work, requiring strong customer focus and operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily marina and waterfront operations, including vessel arrivals, departures, and berth assignments.
• Monitor occupancy, fill vacant moorage spaces, and manage moorage applications and agreements.
• Invoice, collect, and record moorage fees, service charges, and other marina revenues.
• Maintain accurate customer files, contracts, and operational documentation.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
• Conduct regular inspections of docks, floats, facilities, and infrastructure; coordinate cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Ensure vessels are moored safely and in compliance with marina rules and safety procedures.
• Assist in preparing annual operating budgets and operational reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in marina operations, marine services, property or facilities management.
• Knowledge of boating, vessel operations, and marina environments (asset).
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to build positive relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, handling outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software applications.
• Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) certification (considered an asset).
