Manufacturing Learning & Development Training Lead

About the role

The Manufacturing Learning & Development Training Lead owns the on‑the‑job training (OJT) experience for new hires and cross‑training employees. While not delivering training directly, the Lead coaches Certified Trainers, ensures consistent training quality, and maintains the OJT system and digital skills matrix for the area.

Key responsibilities

• Coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to Certified Trainers to guarantee high‑quality onboarding and cross‑training.
• Facilitate Certified Trainer courses as needed for the area.
• Own the OJT experience, ensuring trainers and line leads follow standard practices and use the Poka OJT system for documentation.
• Maintain and monitor the digital skills matrix, identify gaps, and recommend solutions to Area Manager and Supervisor.
• Capture all training activity accurately in the OJT system and provide regular reporting on new‑hire progress, cross‑training status, and skill readiness.
• Collaborate with Process Lead to document, update, and deploy Standard Work and training materials.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in training, operations, or supervisory roles within manufacturing.
• Demonstrated training capability and strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with OJT programs and documentation tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or certifications in training or operations preferred.
