Manufacturing Accountant (Pickering/Ajax)

About the role

Our client, a growing manufacturing company in the Pickering/Ajax area, is seeking an Accountant to support both Canadian and U.S. operations. The role offers exposure to financial reporting, month‑end close, cross‑border accounting, budgeting and process improvement, ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys technical work and wants to build long‑term expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support U.S. entity accounting, compliance and financial reporting, maintaining the general ledger, journal entries and month‑end close activities.
• Perform account reconciliations for cash, AR, AP, inventory, accruals, prepaid expenses and fixed assets, and manage intercompany accounting between Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Prepare customer invoices and credit notes for Canadian and U.S. customers, apply and reconcile payments, and maintain the accounts receivable sub‑ledger.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Support external audits, sales‑tax filings and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end accounting, account reconciliations and Canadian ASPE or IFRS standards.
• Experience with accounts receivable, invoicing and cash application.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
