About the role
The Manager, Post Collection Recycling Material Logistics oversees the movement of residential recycling materials across the Common Collection System in Ontario and other Canadian jurisdictions. Reporting to the Director of National Post Collection Operations, the role ensures efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective transport from Receiving Facilities to Pre‑Conditioning Facilities while supporting continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor day‑to‑day material flow across the CCS network and ensure scheduled loads are completed on time.
- Coordinate with CCS operators, haulers, receiving and pre‑conditioning facilities to resolve delayed pickups, cancelled loads, and capacity constraints.
- Track load weights, facility capacity, and operational performance metrics for reporting.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hauling, transportation, and processing agreements to ensure compliance.
- Analyze operational data to identify risks, inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
- Provide regular updates, issue escalations, and performance reports to senior leadership.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, waste‑management or recycling operations, coordinating multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding of waste diversion, recycling systems and materials management is an asset.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite – Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and ability to apply them in a business context.
- Experience with logistics, reporting or workflow management systems (considered an asset).
