Manager, Common Collection Recycling System (Ontario)

About the role

The Manager, Common Collection Recycling System (Ontario) reports to the Director of the Common Collection System and leads a team of contract specialists. The role is responsible for overseeing CCS operator contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting service delivery across Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and update contracts, including procurement, change notices, and performance tracking.
• Maintain contract records, critical dates, and deliverables while monitoring compliance with Ontario waste diversion regulations.
• Coordinate with municipal and First Nations communities, internal stakeholders, and the CCS Operator to ensure effective service delivery.
• Develop and manage tracking tools, calendars, and reporting dashboards for contract milestones and performance metrics.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of contract and project specialists, supporting staffing and budget planning.
• Identify risks and process improvement opportunities, escalating issues to senior leadership as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent management experience; continuing education is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in recycling collection systems, contract administration, and procurement.
• Knowledge of Ontario waste diversion regulations and First Nations consulting practices is advantageous.
